💡Bouches-du-Rhône is the first French department to be fully mapped in 3D using LiDAR as part of the “LiDAR HD” program. Today more and more areas of French territory are mapped in 3D thanks to LIDAR such as Corsica, the Alps or the Massif Central. Indeed, France is turning to the mapping of its territory using LiDAR technology with the aim of preventing the various climatic risks. LiDAR is a perfect tool for mapping and anticipating these risks! Thus, the Bouches-du-Rhône, regularly victims of floods and fires, have turned to this technology. The National Institute for Geographic and Forest Information (IGN) plans to cover the entire French territory by 2025. A geographical feat made possible thanks to LiDAR!
