Indeed, recently, researchers have exploited a lidar survey carried out in the southern Gulf of Mexico and their conclusions are very interesting: the civilization would be even more ancient! LiDAR technology allowed them to discover structures older than the presumed period of civilization dating. So this calls into question the chronology of Olmec history… Source: [https://www.lemonde.fr/lmdgft/1/NjE1NzI4OS1kZmt4bm5tZ3d5enU=](https://www.lemonde.fr/lmdgft/1/NjE1NzI4OS1kZmt4bm5tZ3d5enU=) Share This: [mailto:replaceme@please.com?&subject=Thought%20you%20might%20like%20this&body=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.thecrossproduct.com%2Fen%2Fblog-did-you-know-lidar%2Fle-saviez-vous-lidar-et-olm%C3%A8ques](mailto:replaceme@please.com?&subject=Thought%20you%20might%20like%20this&body=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.thecrossproduct.com%2Fen%2Fblog-did-you-know-lidar%2Fle-saviez-vous-lidar-et-olm%C3%A8ques) ### Featured Articles ### Categories - [didyouknow (59)](https://www.thecrossproduct.com/en/blog-did-you-know-lidar/tag/didyouknow) - [discovery (1)](https://www.thecrossproduct.com/en/blog-did-you-know-lidar/tag/discovery) - - - - - [mailto:contact@thecrossproduct.com](mailto:contact@thecrossproduct.com) 35 rue Saint Honoré, 77300 Fontainebleau FRANCE © 2026 [TheCrossProduct](https://www.thecrossproduct.com/deleted?hsLang=en) - contact@thecrossproduct.com | +33 7 85 85 35 46 - [Privacy Policy](https://drive.google.com/file/d/1rtuaslcya-mciH9CQ0k8PrqeWcgYsq_g/view?usp=share_link) - [Terms and Conditions](https://drive.google.com/file/d/1rtuaslcya-mciH9CQ0k8PrqeWcgYsq_g/view?usp=share_link) - [Legal information](https://www.thecrossproduct.com/mentions-légales) ```json { "@context" : "https://schema.org", "@type" : "BlogPosting", "author" : { "@type" : "Person", "name" : "Déborah", "url" : "https://www.thecrossproduct.com/en/blog-did-you-know-lidar/author/déborah" }, "dateModified" : "2023-03-24T08:00:00.379Z", "datePublished" : "2023-03-24T08:00:00.000Z", "headline" : "Did you know?
