Did you know?

💡 LiDAR technology is a tool used to study the effects of tsunamis with the aim of adapting future constructions accordingly. When LiDAR data is overlaid in the GIS (geographic information system) experts can identify the areas most likely to be affected by the disaster. In addition, data collected through LiDAR is also used to create a tsunami model and simulation to determine its severity and possible consequences. It also helps to determine the elevation value of a seashore as well as the underwater elevation. Thus, LiDAR technology makes it possible to better prepare for and better understand the tsunami.
